FBI Admits to Falsely Accusing Professor of Espionage for China

Alwaght- US federal agents admitted that they falsely accused a Chinese-born professor of espionage for China.

FBI agent Kujtim Sadiku admitted last week to falsely accusing former University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Professor Anming Hu of being a spy, The Knoxville News Sentinel reported.

The agents were armed with a Chinese press release translated on the fly via Google.

The Tennessee professor is an internationally-renown welding technology expert.

The report was released as tensions between China and the United States are on the rise amid US President Joe Biden’s aggressive policies towards Beijing.

Biden has made competition with China's growing clout the central-piece of his foreign policy.

China has denounced Washington’s anti-Beijing policy as “too negative", insisting that the Biden administration is more focused on confrontation rather than cooperation with China.

China hoped for an improvement in relations under Biden, who succeeded President Donald Trump in January, but the new administration has shown no sign of backing down on hardline policies toward China.
