43 Killed as Militants Attack Govt Building in Kabul

Alwaght- At least 43 people were killed and 10 others injured on Monday after militants attacked an Afghan government compound in Kabul, the health ministry said on Tuesday.

According to Tolonews, militants stormed a government building in downtown Kabul at around 3pm local time on Monday after detonating a car bomb at the entrance. The gun attack continued for ten hours till 1 am Tuesday when security forces have managed to clean the building of the Ministry of Public Works and the National Authority for People with Disabilities and Martyrs’ Families.

At least four militants, including the suicide bomber, were killed and more than 350 people freed, officials said. Most of the dead and wounded were civilians. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.

It was the deadliest assault in the Afghan capital since a suicide bomber blew himself up in the middle of a religious gathering last month, killing at least 55 people.
