Alwaght-Yemeni army still maintains control over key positions in Aden despite some media reports that the port city has slipped into the hands of militants allied to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of Ansarullah’s political bureau, said that pro-Hadi militants have not been able to take complete control of the strategic southern Yemeni port city in spite of Saudi Arabia’s incessant airstrikes to help them gain the upper hand over Ansarullah fighters.
Bukhaiti further said that heavy clashes between fighters from his group and militants over the control of Aden are in full swing. Bukhaiti also said Saudi Arabia has reaped nothing from its deadly aerial campaign against Yemen, and has instead suffered massive losses.
Meanwhile Yemeni field sources revealed on Wednesday that the national army and fighters of the Popular Committees - continued their operations against terrorist operatives in several provinces across the country.
The sources told Al-Manar TV that the Yemeni military advanced in the central provinces of Ma’rib, Taez while hitting targets in the Saudi region of Jizan. This is while Saudi invaders targeted the provinces of Saada in the north and Lahej in the south, in addition to carrying out three raids over the main road linking Sanaa to Ma'rib in Al-A'roosh area.
The Saudi regime launched an illegal aggression against Yemen on March 26 with the stated objective of toppling the Ansarullah movement and restoring to power to fugitive President Mansour Hadi.
Despite Riyadh's claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures including hospitals, schools, mosques, bridges and food factories.
The brutal Saudi aggression has so far claimed the lives of at least 5,200 people, mostly women and children.
The United Nations has declared Yemen a level-three humanitarian emergency, the highest on its scale.
