Israeli Regime Plans to Demolish the only Mosque in Negev

Israeli Regime Plans to Demolish the only Mosque in Negev
Alwaght-The Israeli regime has issued an order to demolish Muslims’ only Mosque in  the Palestinian Bedouin village of Rakhama  in Negev, south of the 1948 occupied territories.

Local Palestinian sources said the Israeli regime forces menacingly entered into the town and threatened to knock down the Mosque.

Meanwhile, local Arab politician Talab Abu Arar said in a press statement Tuesday the likely demolition of the Mosque represents a flagrant violation of Muslims’ freedom of worship and right to live in dignity.

“Such an act is a barefaced proof of a deep-seated hatred and racism,” he said. “But Israel knows well that its oppressive policies and demolition procedures carried out on a daily basis in Negev . . . will neither dampen our spirits nor force us to give up our land and religion.”

Recently thousands of acres of wheat and other cereal crops have been destroyed by Israeli police in the Palestinian Bedouin village of Rakhama in Negev.

In the Negev desert,  the Israeli  regime has already authorized the expulsion of tens of thousands of Bedouin Arabs from where they have lived for generations.

Bedouin villages in the desert frequently come under attack by Israeli regime forces. More than 150,000 Bedouins live in the occupied Palestinian territories, mostly in and around Negev.

Nearly half of Bedouins live in villages where the Israeli regime denies access to water and electricity.

Rights groups have repeatedly called on the Israeli regime to stop the demolition of the homes of Bedouins.
