Alwaght- Israeli regime warplanes have carried out several airstrikes on various positions throughout the besieged Gaza Strip.
Sources say the early Tuesday raids targeted positions reportedly belonging to the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades -- the military wing of Hamas -- located to the center and the west of the coastal strip.
Israeli regime's warplanes committed more acts of aggression against positions in Khan Yunis and Rafah, located to the south of the Strip. Israeli regime forces also fired artillery on Palestinian farming lands to the east of Gaza.
Tel Aviv regime claims that the attacks were launched is response to rocket fire from the Gaza Strip which landed in an unpopulated area in the occupied territories without causing any injuries.
The Israeli military frequently commits acts of aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, with civilians being the main casualties of such attacks.
Since summer of 2007, the Israeli regime imposed an inhumane blockade on the tiny coastal sliver, which has one of the highest population densities in the world and is home to over 1.8 million Palestinians.
The Egyptian-backed blockade, which has cut off the territory from the outside world, has led to an economic and humanitarian crisis in the densely-populated enclave.
The Israeli regime has waged three wars on Gaza since 2008, including the devastating 50-day aggression of the summer of 2014.
Nearly 2,200 Palestinians, including 577 children, were killed in the onslaught. Over 11,100 others – including 3,374 children, 2,088 women and 410 elderly people – were also injured.
