ALWAGHT- Lebanon's resistance movement Hezbollah has praised the election of Yahya Sinwar as Hamas's new political leader, stating that the appointment highlights Israel's failure to achieve its goal of eliminating the group's leaders.
Hezbollah made these comments in a statement on Wednesday, following Yahya Sinwar's appointment as the new political leader of Hamas, succeeding Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran in an attack attributed to Israel.
The statement also emphasized that Sinwar's election sends a “strong message” to Israel, the United States, and their allies, demonstrating that Hamas remains unified, steadfast in its principles, and resolute in its commitment to resistance.
Hezbollah also noted that appointing Sinwar as Hamas leader “at this crucial time” amid ongoing conflict strengthens the resolve of Palestinians and regional countries to unify their efforts and persist in the resistance until Palestine is fully liberated.
In a statement on Tuesday, Hamas announced Sinwar's selection as the new head of the movement’s political bureau, succeeding Haniyeh.
