Iran’s FM Meets Turkmen Officials

Alwaght- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met People's Council of Turkmenistan chairman, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow in his visit to Ashgabat. 

During the Thursday meetings, Amirabdollahian and Berdimuhamedov discussed bilateral issues, as well as regional and international developments, according to IRNA. 

Amirabdollahian and his accompanying delegation also met with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow.

The two sides reviewed issues of mutual interest, especially economic relations, trade, transit, energy, and counter-terrorism.

The top Iranian diplomat will also meet with his Turkmen counterpart, Rashid Meredov, on Thursday evening.

Amirabdollahian left Tehran for Ashgabat late on Wednesday to meet with the officials of Turkmenistan.

On this trip, Kazemi Qomi, the special representative of the president for Afghanistan affairs, Demirchilou, the director general of Eurasia, and Alireza Mahmoudi, the consular director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, accompanied Amirabdollahian.
