Former French Defense and Foreign Minister stated: Israel fell into a trap on October 7th, and Iran emerged victorious in the strategic direction of the Middle East crisis.
Jean-Yves Le Drian has stated that the current crisis in the Middle East is a strategic victory for the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the attack on October 7th was a trap in which Israel got caught.
He also stated that the prolonged conflict will further the ideological goals of Hamas and contribute to the infusion of Islamic principles into both ideals and the Palestinian issue.
Le Drian clarified this perspective by stating that the Iranian government is currently gaining strategic advantages from the Middle East crisis. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has impeded the normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, the attack on October 7th has eroded the perception of Israel's invincibility, marking a minor triumph for the Islamic Republic of Iran. He emphasized that this success reinforces the official stance of the Iranian government in advocating for armed struggle. According to Jean-Yves Le Drian, Iran is presently utilizing its support for Palestinian resistance groups, given that the Palestinian issue has now become a central point of discussions.
The Foreign Minister of France has asserted that Tehran's leadership understands the prolonged conflict boosts Tehran's influence.
In another segment of his comments, Jean-Yves Le Drian conveyed profound apprehension regarding the present state of the Gaza war, particularly in the aftermath of renewed hostilities. He characterized it as a tragic deadlock, asserting that this situation perpetuates an enduring crisis and a volatile environment in the region.
Drawing attention to the aggression by Zionist settlers on the western bank of the Jordan River against Palestinian civilians, he noted the substantial risk of the conflict extending to this area of Palestinian territories and the northern borders of the Israeli regime adjoining Lebanon.
The ex-French Foreign Minister continued, stating that Hamas serves as an advocate of an ideology with support from residents in Gaza, the West Bank, and various other regions, including the western bank of the Jordan River.
