Bedouin Houses Demolished by Israelis in al-Quds

Monday 17 August 2015
Bedouin Houses Demolished by Israelis in al-Quds
Alwaght- Israeli regime bulldozers on Monday morning demolished structures belonging to more than 20 families of the Jahalin Bedouin community in occupied eastern Al Quds (Jerusalem).
According to Palestinian Ma’an news agency, Israeli regime forces escorted the bulldozers into the Khan al-Ahmar area of eastern Al Quds where they carried out the demolitions.
Khan al-Ahmar lies in the E1 corridor -- a large tract of land between East Al Quds and the illegal Israeli settlement of Maale Adumim that the Israeli regime has earmarked for annexation.

Israeli authorities have issued demolition orders to hundreds of Palestinian Bedouins living in the corridor, demanding that they relocate to an area on the outskirts of Abu Dis in the south.
Israeli plans for settlement construction in the area have been strongly opposed by the international community, including its close ally, the US.
Critics say Israeli regime settlement construction in E1 would divide the West Bank in two and make the creation of a contiguous Palestinian state -- as envisaged by the internationally backed two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict -- virtually impossible.
Over the past decades, Tel Aviv regime has tried to change the demographic makeup of the holy city by constructing illegal settlements, destroying historical sites, and expelling the local Palestinian population.
Reports say the Israeli regime is planning to build a synagogue in the al-Aqsa Mosque compound as part of its efforts to further Judaize the occupied territories.
