Alwaght- Khader Adnan who was freed from Israeli regime's prison after his 55-day hunger strike portrayed the regime's measures as mistakes saying that “The Israeli occupation made a mistake not only in arresting me the first time and the second but also in releasing me at such an early hour in an attempt to spoil my joy and that of my people”.
Describing the Israeli regime's action for releasing him too early on morning as “sadistic Israeli schemes”, leading figure in the Islamic Jihad political party Adnan said “The Israeli occupation authority has done it all to mar the joy me and my family felt on the day of my release”.
According to Palestine-based Palinfo website, 37-year-old Adnan, father of six who worked as a baker, emphasized that Zionist's plan proved to be failure saying that Tel Aviv will witness the support provided by my people from every corner of the occupied Palestinian territories”. "
“I am in good health. All praises be to Allah,” he further stated despite the remarkable weight loss and exhaustion showing on his face and body.
Prisoner Adnan, a father of six, returned from the brink of death and was received at the main entrance to his home town Arraba, in Jenin, by dozens of activists and family members at six a.m.
His strike had galvanized Palestinians behind a "battle of empty stomachs" campaign against Israeli administrative detention.
Administrative detention allows the regime to hold captives for an indefinite period, up to one year. The inhuman process also allows for arrest based on secret evidence, and there is no requirement to charge the detainees or to allow them to stand trial.
According to the Palestine-based Addameer Prisoner Support Network, there were 426 administrative detainees in Israeli regime's prisons, among which are 8 Palestinian Legislative Council Members.
