ALWAGHT- The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy has reported that a container vessel loaded with over 2,500 containers went down south of the Strait of Hormuz after striking a sea mine and subsequently catching fire.
According to the IRGC, the vessel exploded and caught fire after hitting a naval mine, eventually sinking on Wednesday morning as the flames spread.
The IRGC Navy warned nearby ships and fishermen to navigate the area carefully, citing the risk posed by shipping containers drifting in the water.
