IRGC Frees Kidnapped Engineer, Kills Six Terrorists in Southeastern Iran

ALWAGHT- Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Force has rescued a kidnapped construction engineer and killed six members of a terrorist group during an operation in southeastern Iran, according to a statement from the force’s Quds Base.

The operation took place in the Kourin area of Zahedan, in Sistan and Baluchestan Province. The statement said members of the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group abducted the engineer in western Zahedan on Monday and planned to take him to a neighboring country.

Using intelligence capabilities, IRGC personnel tracked the kidnappers to their hideout and launched a surprise operation. Five members of the group were initially reported killed, with a subsequent update raising the death toll to six. The kidnapped engineer was freed, while one IRGC serviceman was killed in the clashes.

The Quds Base initially reported that fighting with remaining members of the terrorist group was continuing. The operation was announced on October 13, 2026.
