Iran and UAE Pursue Renewed Ties After US War on Iran

ALWAGHT- Pezeshkian says Iran and the UAE have agreed to mend bilateral relations, marking a new diplomatic opening following tensions during the war.

Pezeshkian said Iran and the UAE have agreed to restore relations following tensions stemming from the US war on Iran. After meeting Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the BRICS summit, he said both sides agreed to “turn the page” and work toward a shared future.

The meeting focused on regional and international issues, de-escalation, stability, and efforts to promote regional peace and development. It marked the first high-level constructive exchange between the two sides since the war and subsequent tensions in the Persian Gulf.

Iran-UAE relations deteriorated after the conflict began, with Tehran accusing Abu Dhabi of facilitating US military operations and hosting foreign military assets. However, the two countries had already begun direct security contacts in June, as the UAE sought to reduce tensions and pursue engagement with Tehran.
