ALWAGHT- Democratic Senator Chris Murphy says the US president has “lost the war” against Iran.
Democratic Senator Chris Murphy said the US has “lost this war” with Iran, arguing that prolonging the conflict is weakening Washington while strengthening Tehran. He warned that continued fighting was also hurting Americans as prices rise.
Murphy said he would support even a “bad deal” to end the conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and vowed to oppose funding for continued military operations. However, he said he would support replenishing US munitions once the war ends.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said there were no direct talks between Tehran and Washington. He also maintained that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed until the US meets Iran’s demands, including lifting the naval blockade.
