ALWAGHT- Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly criticized the coordinated US-Saudi strikes targeting several areas in Iraq.
Iran's Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the joint US-Saudi strikes on multiple locations in Iraq, including facilities belonging to official Iraqi institutions as well as Arbaeen pilgrimage processions and service stations. It described the attacks as a violation of Iraq's sovereignty and international law.
The ministry argued that the strikes were aimed at escalating conflict in West Asia, expressed condolences for those killed, and reaffirmed Iran's support for the Iraqi government and people. It also held the US and its regional allies responsible for the consequences of the attacks.
According to Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), the strikes killed at least 20 members and wounded 32 others. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and the US Central Command said the operation targeted forces they accused of carrying out attacks on American troops and Saudi energy infrastructure.
