ALWAGHT- Senior diplomats from Iran and Pakistan explored avenues to expand and deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanchi met with Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Monday ahead of the 13th round of bilateral political consultations between the two countries. The discussions focused on preparations for the upcoming talks, recent regional and international developments, and strategies to enhance Iran-Pakistan relations.
The officials reviewed a wide range of issues, including cross-border security, trade, energy cooperation, and regional stability, while also touching on broader geopolitical developments in the Middle East and South Asia, such as the situation in Afghanistan and border security concerns. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration to address shared challenges.
The upcoming consultations, co-chaired by Takht Ravanchi and Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, are expected to produce actionable recommendations to strengthen economic ties, enhance security coordination, and promote cultural and political exchanges.
