ALWAGHT- Iran is completing the first phase of its Chabahar Space Center, built for solid-fuel launch vehicles, and is preparing for the center’s inaugural launch, according to the head of the Iranian Space Agency.
Hassan Salarieh, head of the Iranian Space Agency, highlighted that the first phase of the Chabahar Space Center, designed for solid-fuel launch vehicles, is nearing completion, with preparations underway for its inaugural launch. He also expressed optimism that the second phase, for liquid-fuel satellite carriers, will begin soon.
Salarieh provided updates on Iran’s satellite programs, noting that after the launches of Pars-1 and Nahid-2 and their in-orbit assessments, improved versions are being prepared. He added that Pars-2 is undergoing final tests ahead of launch, while more advanced observational and communications satellites are under development.
He emphasized that Iran’s homegrown satellites, including the high-resolution Pars-3 (with imaging accuracy under one meter), are crucial for advancing the country’s space industry and providing practical services. Salarieh noted that both government and private sectors are actively involved in these ongoing projects.
