Captives’ ‘Farewell Photo’ Released by Al-Qassam Amid Gaza Attacks

ALWAGHT- Photos of 46 Israeli captives, both deceased and living, have been published by the al-Qassam Brigades amid Israel’s intensified ground invasion of Gaza City.

The al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, published images of 46 Israeli captives—both dead and alive—on its Telegram channel as Israel launched its ground invasion of Gaza City. Each photo included a serial number and the name of Ron Arad, an Israeli officer who disappeared in 1986, implying the captives could meet a similar fate. The post blamed Israeli leaders Netanyahu and Zamir for the situation, calling it a “farewell picture” as operations in Gaza began.

Hamas has publicly held Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu solely responsible for the safety and lives of the captives amid the escalating invasion, emphasizing his accountability as the “war criminal” in charge. The move comes as the humanitarian situation in Gaza deteriorates further due to intensifying military operations.

Since the conflict began on October 7, 2023, Gaza has suffered massive casualties, with over 65,000 dead and more than 166,000 injured. In the last six months alone, reported casualties have surged, including over 12,600 deaths and 54,000 injuries, highlighting the devastating human toll of the ongoing aggression.
