ALWAGHT- Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, praised Turkey’s active role as OIC chair and its consistent backing of Palestinians.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on the sidelines of an extraordinary OIC foreign ministers’ session in Jeddah, praising Turkey’s leadership and support for the Palestinian cause. He also emphasized the need for the Islamic world to strengthen collective capacities to counter Israel’s expansionist plans.
The two ministers reviewed recent developments in Iran-Turkey bilateral relations, highlighting the importance of strategic and continuous cooperation. They stressed expanding collaboration in key sectors, including trade, energy, transportation, border security, and regional exchanges.
Araghchi and Fidan underscored the significance of convening the Supreme Council of Iran-Turkey Relations as a practical measure to deepen ties. They called for ongoing consultations and closer regional and international cooperation based on mutual respect, good neighborliness, and shared interests.
