High-ranking General: Iran Is Skeptical About Israel’s Compliance with The Truce

ALWAGHT- Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff has expressed deep doubts about Israel honoring the US-declared unilateral ceasefire and warned that Iran is ready to take firm action should the regime restart its offensive.

Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, in a phone call with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, emphasized that Iran did not initiate the recent 12-day war but responded forcefully to Israeli aggression. Mousavi expressed serious doubts about Israel’s commitment to ceasefire agreements and warned that Iran is prepared to respond strongly if hostilities resume. The conversation also covered regional issues and bilateral relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

The conflict began on June 13 with Israeli and US attacks targeting Iranian military leaders, scientists, and civilians. In retaliation, Iran launched advanced missile strikes that penetrated Israel’s defense systems and significantly damaged military and industrial targets. Despite Iranian restraint and ongoing indirect negotiations with the US, Israel and the US violated international norms by invading Iranian territory, according to Mousavi.

Prince Khalid conveyed Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of the aggression and efforts to end the conflict, offering condolences for Iranian commanders killed during the attacks. Both sides agreed to continue consultations aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and promoting peace and security in the region, highlighting the crucial role of Iran and Saudi Arabia in achieving regional stability.
