Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Demands US Compensation for Damages

ALWAGHT- According to an Iranian deputy foreign minister, Tehran is preparing to bring a complaint before the UN regarding the harm caused to its facilities by the United States.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh demanded that the United States compensate Iran for damages caused to its nuclear facilities during recent military strikes. He announced that Iran will file a complaint against the US at the United Nations. The strikes followed a 12-day war of aggression launched by the Israeli regime against Iran, targeting military, nuclear, and residential areas, after which the US conducted attacks on three Iranian nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan on June 22.

Following these attacks, Iran's military responded with powerful retaliatory missile strikes against Israeli targets, carrying out 22 waves of strikes as part of Operation True Promise III, inflicting heavy losses on cities in the occupied territories. A ceasefire took effect on June 24, halting the fighting. Khatibzadeh noted that it was the US that initiated communications about ending the conflict, while Iran insisted that the aggression must stop before any ceasefire agreement.

Khatibzadeh emphasized that Iran has made no written agreements with Israel regarding the ceasefire, clarifying that the cessation of hostilities was unilateral on Israel’s part. Despite being prepared for further action, Iran has chosen not to launch additional strikes at this time. The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has condemned the US attacks as violations of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and stated they will not hinder Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
