ALWAGHT- A senior commander stated that Iran’s retaliatory Operation True Promise III struck three Israeli airbases that served as launch points for attacks against Iran.
Brigadier General Ahmadi Vahidi, a senior advisor to the IRGC commander, announced that Iran’s Operation True Promise III targeted multiple Israeli sites, including the Nevatim and Ovda airbases—home to Israel’s command, control, and electronic warfare centers—used as launch points for attacks on Iran. The operation also struck Tel Nof airbase near Tel Aviv, Israel’s defense ministry, and key industrial and military centers in Tel Aviv, with over 150 targets hit in multiple stages.
The operation involved hundreds of missiles fired by Iran, successfully penetrating Israel’s multi-layered air defense system in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on Tehran that killed several top Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. Iran’s leadership, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, warned Israel of severe consequences, describing the attack as a grave miscalculation and promising a harsh response.
This escalation marks a significant intensification of the Iran-Israel conflict, moving the two adversaries closer to open warfare. The strikes have had broad regional and international repercussions, including disruptions to global shipping and energy markets, while prompting calls for restraint amid fears of a wider Middle East conflict.
