Alwaght- Zionist settlers on Monday stormed al-Aqsa Mosque, a day after Israeli regime’s cabinet held its weekly meeting beneath al-Buraq or Western Wall of the Mosque.
The Zionist settlers stormed the holy Islamic site under heavy guard from Israeli regime forces, in flagrant violation of its sanctity on the third day of the holy month of Ramadan.
Palestinian media reports indicate that at least 91 Zionist settlers and 40 students desecrated the holy shrine amid heavy presence of Israeli police and carried out provocative tours in various parts of its yards.
Al-Aqsa Mosque witnesses near daily incursions and violations of the settlers, amid strict measures imposed by Israeli regime forces aimed at imposing the temporal and spatial division of al- Aqsa and Judaizing occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has strongly condemned the Israeli regime for holding its weekly cabinet meeting beneath al-Buraq or Western Wall of the Aqsa Mosque, describing it as “serious and provocative.”
In a press release on Sunday, Hamas spokesman Abdul-Latif Qanua said the holding of the cabinet meeting in underground tunnels under al-Buraq Wall area to discuss major Judaization projects in occupied al-Quds was a serious act of escalation and provocation to the Muslim nation.
Qanua also called it “a consequence of Trump’s visit that provided the green light for Israel to persist in its crimes and violations.”
The spokesman appealed to the governments of the Arab and Islamic states to assume their responsibilities towards such Israeli escalation.
Elsewhere, Human Rights Watch (HRW) has accused the Israeli regime of seeking to make the Palestinian natives of occupied al-Quds a minority in their own city by stepping up the demolition of their homes.
“[Israeli] municipal planning documents have had the stated goal of ensuring that Palestinians are a minority in the city,” HRW said in a recent report.
According to the international rights group, the UN has estimated that 90,000 Palestinians in east al-Quds live in homes without permits.
“The international law of occupation, which applies to east Al Quds, prohibits the destruction of property except for reasons of military necessity. For decades, Israeli officials have violated these prohibitions with impunity.” HRW stated.
