Alwaght- Syrian army supported by forces of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement launched a specially designed operation to cleanse regions around Damascus on Sunday.
The operation is designed to demolish the huge tunnels used by the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham terrorists near the Madaya suburbs.
Syrian forces initiated their offensive on early Sunday morning, when a joint unit of Hezbollah and Syrian soldiers dug under a tunnel belonging to the terrorists that stretched from the besieged town of Madaya to the Baqeen Farms.
Once the explosives were planted, the Syrian Armed Forces detonated the bombs, killing a large number of terrorists that were inside the tunnel before the explosion.
In another front some units of the Syrian forces also carried out an ambush against a group of Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham terrorists that were attempting to travel to Baqeen Farms on Sunday.
The foreign-sponsored conflict in Syria, which started in March 2011, has claimed the lives of more than 400,000 people, according to an estimate by United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.
