Saudi Arabia violated the recently implemented ceasefire in Yemen by attacking the country on Friday.

Alwaght- Saudi Arabia violated the recently implemented ceasefire in Yemen by attacking the country on Friday.

The Saudi military carried out missile attacks against targets in the Yemeni province of Saada, the county's al-Masirah news website reported.

The attacks targeted some residential areas in the Shada district, the report added.

This is not the first time Riyadh violates the UN sponsored ceasefires in Yemen. The Saudi military also killed six people in an airstrike on the Saada and Amran provinces on Thursday.

The Yemeni army and popular committees launched retaliatory attacks on Saudi military positions in the southwestern province of Jizan.

Al-Masirah reported that the Yemeni forces fired rockets and artillery shells at the Saudi military camp of Mosem and other posts in the eastern Samtah town on Friday.

About 10,000 Yemenis have been killed since the regime in Riyadh launched its deadly campaign against Yemen in March 2015. The military aggression was meant to restore power to Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh and Yemen’s president who has resigned and fled the capital. Hadi seeks to force his way back into power.
