Iraqi Forces Liberate Town in Anbar from ISIS Terrorists

Wednesday 18 May 2016
Iraqi Forces Liberate Town in Anbar from ISIS Terrorists

Alwaght- Iraqi army and local allies have fully liberated an important town in the western province of Anbar from the occupation of the ISIS Takfiri terrorist group.

Reports say Iraqi forces swiftly liberated the town of Rutbah on Tuesday in a major operation with ISIS terrorists retreated without engaging the government troops.

The triumphant forces have hoisted Iraqi flags in buildings across the town with residents welcoming the ejection of ISIS terrorists from the strategic town.

Iraqi sources said the security forces are trying to clear the town of explosive devices and mines left by fleeing ISIS terrorists.

Tuesday’s victory is the latest gain by the Iraqi military and allied volunteer fighters against ISIS terrorists in the conflict-ridden country.

The foreign-backed ISIS terrorist group overran large areas north and west of Baghdad in June 2014, and later made further advances in Anbar, seizing Ramadi in 2015.

The militants have been committing brutal crimes against all ethnic and religious communities in Iraq, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and others.

Iraqi forces have since regained significant ground from the Takfiri terrorists, securing the Ramadi area earlier this year and retaking the town of Heet last month.

But parts of Anbar -- including Fallujah -- are still under ISIS occupation, as is most of Nineveh province, to its north.
