America Anti-nuke Talk Hypocrisy: Shakespeare

Alwaght- America voting against a UN resolution urging Israel regime to join the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) belies Washington’s anti-nuclear arms discourse as hypocrisy, says a political commentator, as Press TV Reports.

On Tuesday, the United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly adopted the Arab-backed resolution, which was voted against by America and Canada among other countries.

The resolution urged the Israeli regime to put its nuclear facilities under the safeguard of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and expressed deep concern over Tel Aviv’s nuclear capabilities.

“This is how the USA works. And the whole world now knows exactly how it works,” Prof. Rodney Shakespeare told Press TV.

“And it works in support of a racist entity. It is paranoid attack dog, and it’s now about to become a thoroughly racist entity in exactly the same way South Africa was under apartheid,” he added.

“So, the reality is now that the USA has made a great big mistake and it cannot hide from that mistake now. Everybody knows that all its talk about controlling nuclear arms is purely hypocrisy. The USA is a one-sided arrogant brute.”

Tel Aviv is widely believed to be the sole owner of nuclear weapons in the Middle East.

Former American President Jimmy Carter has said Israel has a nuclear arsenal that includes between 200 and 300 warheads. Decades of recurrent reporting and aerial footage have also established the possession of atomic arms by Israel regime.

Tel Aviv neither confirms nor denies having the weapons, while refusing to join the NPT.
