ALWAGHT- At least four Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza, further raising doubts about Israel’s commitment to a year-old ceasefire intended to halt its devastating military campaign against the besieged territory.
At least four Palestinians, including a couple in Gaza City and a 17-year-old boy in Khan Younis, were killed in Israeli airstrikes and gunfire on Tuesday. Another person was killed in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, while artillery attacks were reported in areas south of Khan Younis. The overnight assaults caused extensive damage to residential areas.
Hamas condemned the attacks as violations of the ceasefire agreement reached in October 2025, accusing Israel of continuing to target civilians and undermining efforts to end the conflict. The group called on mediators and guarantor states to pressure Israel to halt its attacks and honor the truce.
Hamas also warned that Israel’s continued siege and restrictions on humanitarian aid and essential supplies were worsening living conditions, deepening food insecurity and increasing the suffering of displaced Palestinians. It urged the United Nations and international aid organizations to step up emergency assistance and take immediate action.
More than 1,500 Palestinians have reportedly been killed since the ceasefire took effect, following an Israeli military campaign that had claimed nearly 75,000 Palestinian lives since October 7, 2023. Gaza residents say the bombardment and killings have continued despite the truce, leaving many questioning whether a genuine ceasefire is in place.
