ALWAGHT- Iran’s senior military chief has affirmed that the country’s armed forces are fully prepared to safeguard national sovereignty and confront any threat, regardless of the circumstances.
Major General Ali Abdollahi, chief of the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, vowed that the military would defend the country’s sovereignty under all circumstances and prevent any aggressor from threatening Iran’s territory or political system. Speaking at a ceremony honoring the late Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh and introducing his successor, Mehrdad Akhlaghi, he credited national unity and coordination among government institutions for thwarting US efforts to pressure Tehran.
Abdollahi said Iran had never initiated a war and had consistently acted to defend its people against aggression. He argued that recent conflicts had demonstrated the importance of public resilience, military preparedness, and unity among Iranian officials and the population.
The senior commander warned that future conflicts would extend beyond conventional warfare to include technological, intelligence, hybrid, and psychological dimensions. He called for greater investment in artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and improvements to missiles, drones, air defense, naval systems, electronics, and communications to strengthen Iran’s defensive capabilities.
