ALWAGHT- Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 17 people, among them two infants, and wounded 20 others across southern Lebanon in the past 48 hours, amid continued Israeli breaches of a US-brokered framework agreement.
Israeli airstrikes struck several areas of southern Lebanon, with a three-story residential building in Kafr Rouman destroyed and nine bodies, including two infants, recovered from the rubble. Five others were injured, while a separate drone strike on a civilian vehicle killed two paramedics. Other strikes destroyed homes and buildings in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Arabsalim and Deir al-Zahrani.
Lebanese Minister of State Fadi Makki called on the international community to take action to halt Israel’s attacks, accusing Israeli forces of killing civilians and destroying residential and civilian infrastructure. He cited recent strikes across southern Lebanon, including an attack on Salah Ghandour Hospital in Bint Jbeil.
The attacks have continued despite a US-sponsored framework agreement signed on June 26 that calls for a gradual Israeli withdrawal and the deployment of Lebanese forces. Lebanese authorities say Israel’s ongoing offensive has killed 4,362 people, wounded 12,378 and displaced more than one million, while Israeli forces continue to occupy parts of southern Lebanon.
