ALWAGHT- On Monday, President Pezeshkian asserted that Iran's national interest demands complementing military victories with diplomacy to secure the country's rights from a stance of "honor and authority."
In a meeting with the Commander-in-Chief and senior commanders of FARAJA (Iran's Law Enforcement Force), President Masoud Pezeshkian received a report on the force's performance during the recent "Imposed War." He praised FARAJA's round-the-clock, sincere, and selfless efforts despite limitations and lack of facilities, stating that the government considers itself obliged to provide all necessary support for strengthening the force. He emphasized the need for modernization, reconstruction of damaged infrastructure, and upgrading FARAJA's operational and support power as definitive government duties.
Pezeshkian called for re-engineering FARAJA's structure with goals of decentralization, agility, and expanding service delivery to citizens. He stressed that FARAJA can play a decisive role in neighborhood-based governance by involving citizens in the security process, thereby strengthening public trust and social capital. The President emphasized that preventive measures must take priority over reactive confrontations, with FARAJA acting as facilitator, coordinator, and supporter within a framework that starts crime prevention at the neighborhood level.
Reflecting on the unique and unprecedented nature of the recent war, Pezeshkian stated that Iran's nation and Armed Forces successfully frustrated the enemy, forcing a ceasefire. He outlined three options before the country: dignified negotiations preserving national interests, remaining in a neither-war-nor-peace state, or continuing confrontation. The President emphasized that the rational choice based on national interests is to complete the Armed Forces' battlefield victory through diplomacy—securing Iran's rights from a position of dignity and authority. Citing Imam Ali (AS), he noted that while distrusting the enemy, negotiation remains possible from a position of Dignity, Wisdom, and Expediency.
