ALWAGHT- Iranian Parliament Deputy Speaker Ali Nikzad stressed that a new legal regime is taking shape for the Strait of Hormuz, declaring that the strategic waterway will never revert to its pre-war condition.
Speaking during a supervisory visit to Hormozgan Province, Iranian Parliament Deputy Speaker Ali Nikzad stated that the legislature is drafting a new law for managing the Strait of Hormuz based on directives from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. While noting that international legal requirements and neighbors' rights will be considered, Nikzad declared that Iran will not retreat from its inherent rights and that the Strait will never return to its pre-war status. He added that revenues from new transit tolls would be allocated to strengthening national defense, improving public livelihoods, and rebuilding infrastructure.
Nikzad made these remarks during a mission to monitor customs clearance and assess damage from recent enemy strikes on Bandar Abbas port. He noted that the Ports and Maritime Organization has already taken measures to compensate for damages, and that enemy attempts to force surrender through military pressure have failed on the battlefield. Despite the conflict, Nikzad emphasized that Parliament remains fully operational through its 16 specialized commissions, coordinating closely with economic and technical teams. He concluded that the Armed Forces, the Supreme National Security Council, and the PMO are working together to finalize the new legal regime for managing the Strait of Hormuz.
