ALWAGHT- FM Araghchi described Ali Larijani's martyrdom as more than a personal loss—calling it the disappearance of a key intellectual and national pillar for Iran.
On the 40th day since Ali Larijani's martyrdom, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Larijani's absence is deeply felt. He described Larijani as a rare figure who blended courage, patience, and wisdom in both domestic and international affairs.
Araghchi noted that Larijani viewed politics not as a mere struggle for power, but as a realm of ethical duty and historical reason. He explained that this philosophy guided Larijani's decisive actions during critical moments as well as his calm restraint under pressure, making him a reassuring intellectual anchor within Iran's decision-making system.
Larijani, a veteran Iranian statesman and former secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, was assassinated along with his son and aides in an Israeli attack near Tehran on March 17, 2026. His role, Araghchi emphasized, went far beyond that of a senior official or diplomat.
