ALWAGHT- No immediate plans for negotiations between Iran and US, says Foreign Ministry Spokesperson.
In his weekly press conference on Monday, Baghaei discussed the international developments and the ongoing peace talks between Tehran and Washington. He criticized the United States for its inconsistent actions and contradictory claims of pursuing diplomacy.
The US initially claimed that Lebanon was not part of the ceasefire despite Pakistan's assertion to the contrary, and even after an understanding was reached, Iran faced maritime actions in the Strait of Hormuz, including a US attack on an Iranian trade vessel on Sunday night, which Baghaei described as a violation of the ceasefire and an act of aggression.
The spokesperson stressed that Iran will carefully consider its national interests before making any decisions about future negotiations with the United States, adding that the country must remain vigilant against enemy plots even within diplomatic tracks due to the costly experiences of the past year and the US's betrayal of diplomacy twice.
