After Nine Days, Trump Must Regret Waging War on Iran

Alwaght- A look at the statements of key Zionist figures like Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and the American ambassador to the Israeli regime Mike Hukabee suggests that the Israeli-American camp is seeking to realize the long-held dream of expanding Israeli regime from Nile to Euphrates. In this connection, the US President Donald Trump claimed that Israel is small and needs expansion. Also, Netanyahu last month claimed he has a “divine” mission to realize the territorial ambitions of Zionists. Ben-Gvir said that geographical expansion in West Asia is the right of the Zionists. This was also highlighted a month ago by the American ambassador to the Israeli regime.

Repeating these claims after the October 7 war on Gaza is deliberate and targeted, but it is met with weak and irresponsible reactions of the Arab and Muslim leaders. This has emboldened the Israeli and American leaders to advance their expansionism as the Zionist expansionists think that their illegitimate demands face no serious obstacles from the Arab and Muslim nations.

From the perspective of the Zionists, the only formidable obstacle to their expansionist ambitions is the Islamic Republic of Iran. Netanyahu, a leading figure in this expansionist agenda, viewed Trump’s presidency as a historic opportunity to realize this desire, one that he believed would not come again soon. In Netanyahu’s eyes, regime change in Iran would pave the way for Israel to swallow up parts of the Arab world and facilitate the creation of a greater Israel. Consequently, the primary objective of Netanyahu in the 12-day war was regime change in Iran, a goal he publicly announced. However, as events unfolded, he quietly removed this objective from his list of declared targets while still keeping it as a main goal to revisit when the time was right.

The subsequent display of negotiations between Iran and the US several months after the 12-day war, which has begun in late February, set the stage for the terrorist activities of US-backed Zionist mercenaries in Iran, aimed at restarting the plan to overthrow the Islamic Republic, ultimately pursuing the fragmentation of Iran. Netanyahu attributed the primary reason for the failure of the aggressive operations during the 12-day war to the Supreme Leader; despite the martyrdom of significant commanders in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), he managed to calm society and sustain various elements of governance with swift and smart replacements, quickly changing the dynamics of the battlefield and forcing the enemy to seek ways to halt Iran’s retaliatory fire.

In fact, what Netanyahu grasped was merely a part of the overall picture, not the entirety of it. Therefore, based on his incomplete understanding of a pivotal event, he reportedly convinced Trump in a conversation on Monday, February 23, that if they removed the leadership and military commanders at the onset of an attack this time, they could achieve regime change and the disintegration of Iran in a very short time.

According to Ali Larijani, the head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, it was the evil temptation of Netanyahu that involved Trump in war he is uncertain can bear its price.

Netanyahu’s 14-day promise to achieve the war objectives imposed on Trump through deception is now nearing its 10-day mark. While Trump witnesses the destruction of his costly military bases one after another in the Persian Gulf countries, the political and social landscape in the US is gradually becoming more uneasy and constrictive for him. At the same time, the Israeli regime is increasingly being devastated by Iran’s crushing missile and drone blows. Yet, Trump, true to form, is engaging in rhetoric and discussing the shrinking of Iran’s map post-war, claims that he knows are unrealizable. These statements are made solely to divert attention from the fact that he is fighting a battle against his own previous policies rather than engaging in a war for regime change. The boastful Trump, now astonished by the might of Iran, has changed. As the Persian proverb suggests, “the color of the face reveals the state of the heart.” He seems to be saying, in effect, “I deeply regret stepping into the White House.”
