One Dead, Eight Wounded as Gaza’s Humanitarian Crisis Worsens

ALWAGHT- Health officials report that rescue teams cannot reach victims trapped beneath the rubble.

Over 24 hours, Israeli attacks in Gaza killed one Palestinian and injured eight others, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported. Health officials said some victims remain trapped under rubble or lying in the streets, with ambulances and civil defense crews unable to reach them due to ongoing bombardment and dangerous conditions.

As of February 23, continued violations of the ceasefire have pushed the post-truce toll to 615 killed and 1,651 injured, with 726 bodies recovered from previously inaccessible areas. Since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023, the cumulative death toll in Gaza has risen to 72,073, with 171,749 injured, highlighting the immense human cost of the conflict.

The ongoing attacks and the prolonged blockade have intensified Gaza’s humanitarian crisis, causing severe shortages of medical supplies, fuel, food, and other essential goods. Palestinians continue to face insecurity, forced displacement, and an overstretched health system, further deepening the suffering of civilians across the enclave.

Hamas called for a complete halt to aggression, lifting of the siege, and full protection of Palestinian rights, urging the international community to hold Israel accountable and ensure unrestricted humanitarian aid. The US-led “Board of Peace” convened in Washington, chaired by President Donald Trump, pledging $10 billion for Gaza’s reconstruction, while Trump framed the initiative as a model for achieving stability, contingent on Hamas disarmament despite ongoing reports of Israeli assaults.
