Satellite Photos Reveal Israel Reinforcing a Lasting Military Footprint in Gaza

ALWAGHT- New satellite imagery suggests that Israel is preparing to establish a permanent military presence across significant areas of the Gaza Strip, showing extensive construction, infrastructure expansion, and ongoing destruction of Palestinian property since the October ceasefire.

Research by Forensic Architecture, published by Drop Site News, shows that Israel has built at least 13 new military outposts in Gaza and expanded 48 existing ones since the October 10 ceasefire. The findings indicate that Israeli forces are reshaping Gaza in ways consistent with long-term control rather than temporary positions.

Satellite analysis from October 10 to December 2 revealed a dense network of military infrastructure east of the ceasefire’s so-called “yellow line,” with Israeli forces now controlling more than half of Gaza. Expansion activities include constructing new roads linking outposts to bases and settlements, enhancing logistical integration with occupied Palestinian territories.

The military buildup has been accompanied by systematic destruction of Palestinian property, particularly in southern Gaza. New outposts, roads, and militarized structures have been built on previously populated areas, with cases like Jabaliya showing demolition of tents and surrounding buildings, forcing displacement.

Experts note that these incremental expansions align with Israel’s historical approach of creating permanent realities on the ground. Despite the ceasefire and official agreements limiting occupation, the expansion of outposts, road networks, and demolition of Palestinian neighborhoods suggests a long-term, entrenched Israeli presence in Gaza.
