ALWAGHT- According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, the region is experiencing “a real war” with the Israeli regime, moving well beyond simple threats.
At a Tehran press conference, Esmaeil Baghaei, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, stated that the region is in a “real war” with Israel rather than facing mere threats. He highlighted the ongoing massacre of Palestinians and the occupation of regional territories, stressing that Israel is the principal threat and that regional countries must coordinate for collective security. Since the Gaza ceasefire talks began, over 200 Palestinians have been killed and 600 injured, with around 270 journalists also killed, which Baghaei described as “full-scale genocide.”
Baghaei dismissed reports of negotiations with the US, saying no official messages had been received, and criticized Washington for failing to respect reasonable negotiation practices. He referenced prior US-Israeli attacks on Iran, condemned Western hypocrisy over nuclear issues, and criticized the US for decades of intervention in other countries, which he said intensified regional instability, division, and terrorism.
He pointed to ongoing crises in Syria, Sudan, and Libya as examples of the fallout from foreign interventions. Highlighting Sudan, Baghaei noted that over 150,000 people have died, 12 million displaced, and 25 million facing hunger, blaming the US, Israel, UK, France, Canada, and the UAE for arms sales, diplomatic cover, and logistical support for forces committing atrocities.
Baghaei also condemned US military movements in the Caribbean and Latin America, calling them disruptive and illegitimate under international law. He warned that the pretext of combating drug trafficking cannot justify violations of sovereignty, expressing concern that Washington might attempt to destabilize or invade countries such as Venezuela under fabricated excuses.
