ALWAGHT- Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization chief Mohammad Eslami affirmed that Tehran will fully protect its rights under the NPT and international law, despite recent attacks on its nuclear sites.
At the 69th IAEA General Conference in Vienna, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization chief Mohammad Eslami condemned Israel’s June military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards. He criticized the United States for supporting actions that violate international law, causing material damage, and undermining the credibility of the IAEA’s safeguard system.
Eslami emphasized that Iran’s nuclear technology remains intact and that the country will continue cooperating with the IAEA once security concerns for its facilities and personnel are addressed. He reaffirmed that previous IAEA reports confirm Iran has not diverted nuclear material or pursued nuclear weapons development, and warned against Western attempts to misuse mechanisms like the JCPOA snapback provisions.
Iran has submitted a draft resolution to strengthen the IAEA’s mandate and safeguard integrity, urging the international community to condemn Israeli attacks and restore the agency’s impartiality. Eslami stressed that Iran will resist political, psychological, and military pressure while remaining committed to diplomatic and peaceful solutions.
