ALWAGHT- The Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a new drone strike on Israeli targets in the occupied territories, declaring it an act of support for Palestinians in Gaza amid the ongoing war on the enclave.
The Israeli military reported on Sunday that Yemeni forces launched a drone toward Ramon Airport near Eilat, which was intercepted by air defenses. Sirens were activated in nearby communities as a precaution. This incident follows a wave of Yemeni drone operations against Israeli targets, including Ben Gurion Airport, Ramon Airport, and a sensitive facility in Dimona.
Yemeni military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree confirmed earlier strikes had achieved their objectives, with one drone successfully penetrating Israeli defenses and hitting Ramon Airport. Since October 2023, Yemen has declared a maritime blockade to restrict military supplies to Israel, framing its actions as a response to the ongoing war in Gaza.
Yemeni forces have pledged to continue drone and missile strikes until Israel halts its military campaign in Gaza. The conflict has claimed more than 64,800 Palestinian lives, the majority women and children, fueling widespread international concern over the humanitarian crisis.
