IRGC Quds Force Neutralizes 2 Terror Cells, Kills 12 Terrorists in Sistan and Baluchestan

ALWAGHT- The IRGC Quds Force has dismantled two terrorist cells plotting sabotage and attacks in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

The IRGC Quds Force, in coordination with other security and intelligence agencies, has intensified operations in Sistan and Baluchestan to counter terrorist threats and organized crime. In recent operations, six terrorists were killed at their hideouts in the northern and southern regions of the province, and two others were arrested. Authorities also confiscated a significant cache of weapons and explosives, including 25 kilograms of explosives, ready-to-use bombs, detonators, remote controls, fuse wires, radios, and other operational equipment, highlighting the sophistication of the terrorist networks.

In a separate operation in the northern part of the province, six armed militants were detained, with additional arrests reported. The IRGC emphasized that these operations are part of a broader effort to secure the province, which has historically been targeted by Takfiri terrorist groups and foreign-backed elements seeking to destabilize the region. The coordinated efforts also aim to disrupt smuggling routes and prevent cross-border infiltration from neighboring Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Sistan and Baluchestan, due to its strategic location along Iran’s eastern borders, has long been a hub for terrorist activity and drug trafficking. Iranian security forces, including the IRGC, have maintained a strong presence to protect civilians and secure the border, repelling almost all assaults by foreign-backed terrorist cells. These recent operations demonstrate Tehran’s ongoing commitment to counterterrorism and border security, as well as its determination to neutralize threats before they can escalate into larger attacks.
