ALWAGHT- Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, praised Iran’s air defense units for their decisive actions during last month’s 12-day US-Israeli military campaign, cautioning that any future acts of aggression would provoke a harsh response.
General Abdolrahim Mousavi visited Iran’s national air defense headquarters on Friday to honor those wounded or killed during the recent US-Israeli aggression. He praised the air defense forces for their frontline role in protecting Iranian airspace and emphasized their success in deterring threats and making enemy forces regret their actions. His visit and statements followed an unprovoked military campaign by Israel starting June 13, later joined by the United States, which targeted Iranian officials, civilians, and nuclear facilities.
In response, Iran launched retaliatory strikes on Israeli positions and the US al-Udeid air base in Qatar, ultimately forcing Israel to declare a unilateral ceasefire on June 24. General Mousavi highlighted the downing of numerous enemy aircraft as proof of Iran’s military strength, courage, and operational readiness. He credited the success to national unity, faith, and the leadership of the Islamic Revolution.
Mousavi issued a stern warning that any future acts of aggression would result in even harsher retaliation. He stressed the importance of continually modernizing Iran’s defense systems to meet evolving threats, advocating for innovation, agility, and self-reliance through domestic scientific and technological development.
