Saudi Crown Prince and Iran FM Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Security

ALWAGHT- Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, engaged in constructive discussions with high-level Saudi representatives in Jeddah, addressing key issues such as promoting security and stability in the West Asian region.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Jeddah to review Tehran-Riyadh relations and discuss regional developments. Araghchi thanked Saudi Arabia for condemning Israeli attacks on Iran, while the Crown Prince expressed hope that the US-brokered ceasefire would help stabilize the region. Both sides emphasized the importance of resolving disputes through diplomatic dialogue.

The recent conflict began with Israel’s aggressive strikes on Iranian military and civilian targets, followed by retaliatory attacks from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. The United States also launched strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, escalating tensions before a unilateral Israeli ceasefire was declared. In parallel meetings, Araghchi engaged with Saudi Foreign and Defense Ministers to explore cooperation on security and stability.

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli aggression against Iran as a clear violation of international law, affirming support for Iran’s sovereignty and security. Iranian officials described the talks as “fruitful,” highlighting shared efforts to improve bilateral ties and promote peace and stability across the West Asian region.
