Yemen Vows Readiness for ‘Prolonged Naval Battles with New Tactics’

ALWAGHT- Yemen's defense minister affirmed the country's full combat readiness to counter any provocation or aggression, warning that the Armed Forces are prepared for prolonged naval confrontations with their adversaries.

Tensions between Yemen and the United States have escalated following US airstrikes on Yemen after the Ansarullah resistance movement threatened to target American warships. Major General Mohammed Nasser al-Atifi reaffirmed Yemen's commitment to its pro-Palestinian operations, vowing to continue strikes on Israeli ships and key targets in response to Tel Aviv’s blockade and aggression against Gaza. He warned that Yemen would escalate its actions if Israel did not lift its siege on the Palestinian territory.

Al-Atifi emphasized that Yemen's military forces, including missile units, drones, and naval assets, are fully prepared for any confrontation. He condemned Israel’s ongoing blockade of Gaza, which has prevented essential aid from reaching the besieged region, and criticized its repeated violations of a ceasefire agreement. The latest Israeli attacks resulted in the deaths of more than 350 Palestinians, mostly women and children, prompting Yemen to renew its military response against Israeli-linked targets.

The Yemeni defense minister also warned countries supporting Israel, particularly the US and the UK, which have increased their naval presence near Yemen. Sana’a has responded by targeting American warships and reinforcing its defenses. However, Al-Atifi clarified that Yemen’s actions against Israeli vessels in the Red Sea, Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and other key waterways do not threaten global maritime navigation.
