Iran Unveils “Seraj,” a Formidable Laser-Powered Air Defense System

ALWAGHT- Iran's Army showcased a cutting-edge laser-powered air defense system during military drills in the western and northern regions.

Iran's Army unveiled the Seraj (Light), a state-of-the-art laser-powered air defense system, during military drills near the Fordow uranium enrichment facility. The system was highlighted as one of several layers of air defense protecting strategic sites, showcasing its significance in national security efforts. Observers described the system as "daunting," noting surprise from Western states regarding its capabilities.

The exercises featured various operations, including reconnaissance, interception, confrontation, and destruction of mock enemy forces. Multiple defense systems were deployed, demonstrating Iran's robust and integrated air defense capabilities. The Air Defense Forces conducted airstrikes using missiles to defend key areas, further showcasing their readiness to address potential threats.

Directed by Iran's Integrated Air Defense Network, the drills simulated realistic combat scenarios, focusing on detecting and neutralizing invasive targets. The operations utilized advanced radar, signal detection, optical, and surveillance systems, highlighting the forces' ability to respond effectively under challenging conditions. Emphasis was placed on rapid deployment and adherence to passive defense principles.

The exercises reflected ongoing efforts by Iran's Armed Forces, including the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), to enhance military hardware and combat readiness under the guidance of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The forces reaffirmed their commitment to defending Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity against external threats, achieving their objectives in the drills.
