Israel Strikes Eastern Lebanon, Violating the Ceasefire

ALWAGHT- Israel has conducted airstrikes on Lebanon, breaking last month's ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah.

Regime warplanes targeted the Baalbek region in eastern Lebanon early Wednesday, according to the National News Agency (NNA).

The strike near Taraya caused no casualties but was labeled by the NNA as the "first violation of the ceasefire agreement" in the area.

Since the truce took effect on November 27, ending nearly 70 days of Israeli attacks on Lebanon, over 300 Israeli violations have been reported. A monitoring committee comprising France, the United States, Lebanon, and UN peacekeepers oversees the ceasefire and addresses violations.

Beirut has called on the US and France to pressure Israel to accelerate its withdrawal from southern Lebanon, as mandated by the agreement. The truce required an immediate cessation of Israeli attacks and set a 60-day deadline for withdrawing forces from the south.
