Iran Places High Value on its Relationship with Iraqi Kurdistan

ALWAGHT- Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, welcomed Faramarz Asadi, the newly appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil.

During the meeting, Nechirvan Barzani assured the new consul general of full support from the Kurdistan Regional authorities to facilitate his mission, according to local Iraqi Kurdistan media.

Faramarz Asadi expressed his satisfaction with assuming his diplomatic role in the Kurdistan Region, emphasizing that "the Islamic Republic of Iran places great importance on its longstanding relations with the Kurdistan Region." He also conveyed Iran’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties across various sectors.

The discussion included an exchange on recent regional developments and their potential implications.

This diplomatic engagement underscores the Kurdistan Region’s enduring significance in broader regional politics.
