ALWAGHT- Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement has urged the international community to take decisive action against Israel for its invasion of Syria and the expansion of its illegal occupation amid the ongoing chaos in the Arab nation.
Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement has strongly condemned Israel's military actions in Syria, accusing the regime of destabilizing the war-torn nation. In a statement issued on Monday, Hezbollah described Israel’s occupation of Syrian lands, including the Golan Heights, and the destruction of Syria’s defensive capabilities as blatant aggression and a violation of the country's sovereignty. This condemnation comes in the aftermath of President Bashar al-Assad's government being overthrown following a swift two-week offensive by foreign-backed militants.
Hezbollah urged the international community, especially Arab and Islamic nations, to take a firm stance against Israel’s actions. The group stressed that Israel’s attempts to seize Syrian territory do not grant it any legitimate sovereignty over the land. Over the past two days, Israel has intensified its military campaign, launching nearly 300 airstrikes on Syria, seizing the buffer zone near the Golan Heights, and capturing the strategically significant Mount Hermon.
The statement highlighted a critical turning point in Syria, where militants from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) captured Damascus after the Syrian army rapidly retreated from key cities, including Aleppo, Hama, and Homs. This offensive coincided with the implementation of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah on November 27, which ended 14 months of conflict. However, Israel has repeatedly violated the truce, causing civilian casualties in Lebanon.
Hezbollah accused Israel of exploiting the chaotic situation in Syria to expand its occupation, while also breaching the ceasefire and intensifying attacks on Gaza. The group warned that Israel's actions threaten the security of the West Asia region, calling for greater unity among nations to resist the regime's aggression and defend regional stability.
