Israel Kills Eight Additional Paramedics in Lebanon as Violence Escalates

ALWAGHT- Israeli warplanes have launched new strikes on Lebanon, killing six paramedics in the country’s south just hours after two others were killed in earlier air raids.

Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon have caused significant casualties, including healthcare workers. On Monday, Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported that strikes targeted the Islamic Health Authority center in Arab Salim, Nabatiyeh Governorate, resulting in fatalities and destruction. The attacks are part of a broader escalation of violence in the region.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health confirmed additional losses on Sunday, with two paramedics killed in separate strikes—one at the Islamic Health Association Center in Houmine el-Tahta, Nabatiyeh, and another at a healthcare facility in Hanaway, South Lebanon. Furthermore, two paramedics sustained injuries in a bombing of an ambulance center in Bazouriyeh, also in the south.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli forces attacked a civil defense center in Douris near Baalbek, killing 15 paramedics and five civilians. These incidents reflect a pattern of strikes on emergency response facilities amid Israel's continued military actions, which intensified following the outbreak of violence in Gaza in October 2023.

The ongoing Israeli campaign has resulted in over 3,481 deaths and 14,786 injuries in Lebanon. Among the casualties are more than 200 emergency workers, predominantly killed in recent months. Rights groups have condemned these attacks on healthcare workers as potential war crimes, calling for accountability in the face of mounting devastation.
