Israel is the primary obstacle to achieving stability in the Islamic world

ALWAGHT- The Director General for International Peace and Security stated that Israel is the primary obstacle to achieving stability and sustainable development in the Islamic world and the region.

Asadollah Eshragh-Jahromi made these remarks during the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. He highlighted that the Israeli regime's destabilizing actions are a significant barrier to cooperation among Islamic nations.

The OIC's 50th session, held on Thursday and Friday, focused on the theme: “Development of Transport and Communications Infrastructure within the OIC Framework: A Key Tool in the Fight against Poverty and Insecurity.”

Eshragh-Jahromi expressed deep concern and strongly condemned the Zionist regime's aggression and brutal crimes against the oppressed people of Palestine in the Gaza Strip over the past eleven months. He also condemned the recent assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, urging the international community and the OIC to take a firm stance against these war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide, and to hold the regime accountable.

He emphasized the importance of addressing the root causes of insecurity and crisis in West Asia, noting that the regime's policies are a major obstacle to unity among OIC member states.

Additionally, he denounced economic sanctions imposed in violation of international law on some developing countries, pointing out that these sanctions disrupt economic stability and hinder development, as well as access to resources and technology.
